RebEarth: Presentation

Earth having over-evolved, humans flew on Moon during centuries and send you, Prometheus, their bio-cybernetic weapon, kill and absorb Alphas who lead the new fauna

Context

Proposed as an end of second-year project by Tristan TOMASSONE, Urszula GORAK and myself, it was unfortunately not selected but this did not dampen our desire to realize it and, Tristan and I, therefore, conceptualized the project, on our free time from October to December 2019.


Having now completed the conceptualization of the project, we would like to give life to our game in the form of a prototype that we plan to start after our studies ending in June 2020.

What I've done:

As a Narrative Designer

RebEarth being a pure action game, the story is quite secondary. Nevertheless, as a Narrative Designer, I found it important and relevant to write about the life and past of the world around our hero because, despite its low affinity for storytelling, an action game needs a narrative foundation to create an implicit environmental narration that the most enthusiastic fans of the universe can fully appreciate.


So, for this purpose, I created a slideshow describing the background of our game with a certain desire to make a sequel that I will post soon:

I then wrote the character sheets because, even if only Prometheus will be really present on the screen, it was important to describe the personality and the past of his correspondents in order to imagine the interactions they could have with him and with each other, thus bringing life to the hero's solitary adventure:

With the characters and the universe now in place, I wrote the Walkthrough, summarizing Prometheus' actions throughout the game:
